Humanitarian AirLift International
a 501c3 Public Charity
As a volunteer pilot organization we stand in the gap for people who are marginalized by life threatening medical circumstances. Our mission is simple. We offer free air transportation with our C-340A aircraft to anybody who has need to travel for urgent medical reasons. These are usually people who have been given little or no chance of survival using current therapies for inoperable cancers and other grave illnesses. Most of our passengers are ambulatory patients and many are children who live in outlying areas, seeking the leading edge treatments available at the large Research Hospitals. We serve people who are so sick the airlines won't clear them for travel and too sick for driving in a car but not urgent enough for the authorization of an air ambulance. They are actually caught in no man’s land as they are grasping at any chance of life.
Additionally, HAL operates aircraft in support of medical clinics/facilities in the US and Mexico. Doctors, dentists, nurses, translators, pilots and support personnel fly to medical clinics/facilities in our private aircraft through cooperative agreements with many humanitarian/medical based support organizations. |

HAL volunteer pilots rely on the support of your donations to make their work possible.
2010 fundraising costs were less than 10% of total support funds raised.
We are a volunteer organization with only one part-time employee. Virtually all money raised goes to the direct operating cost of the airplane in fullfillment of our mission. |
